The more the merrier
We love making new friends, so we made it easy to become a member.
Joining Georgia's Own is simple
Live or work in certain counties
Our field of membership includes 77 counties1 across the state, making it the easiest way to qualify.
Work for a partner company
We have 600+ partner companies throughout Georgia—find out if your employer is on the list. You’re eligible as a retiree of one of our partners, too.
Keep it in the
family
If you’re related by blood, adoption, or marriage to a current Georgia’s Own member, you can join, too.
Fewer (and lower) fees for just five bucks
Once you’ve checked that you qualify for membership, all you need is $5 to open an account. Why? Because—unlike big banks that answer to shareholders—credit unions are owned by members (that’s you!), so your $5 opening deposit counts as your “share” of Georgia’s Own. Your $5 deposit stays safe and sound in a primary savings account (sometimes called a share account) for as long as you’re a member.
Giving back is what we do best
As a not-for-profit financial institution, we put our money where it matters most—in our communities and your pockets.
